Description

Transworld Skateboarding's videos were an iconic and influential force in the skateboarding community and beyond during the 1990's and early 2000's. Below are two of Time Bomb Y2K Co-Director Brian Becker's favorites:

The Reason

Dir. Ty Evans and Jon Holland • 1999 • 60 min

The last Transworld video before the millennium arrived. Expect glitched out editing, over-the-top 16mm montages, Cairo Foster skating to Carry the Zero, peak Philly Stevie Williams during peak Love Park, and ample amounts of what is now termed "Y2K Fashion." Also Gershon Moseley.

Sight Unseen

Dir. Jon Holland and Greg Hunt • 2001 • 50 min

A video that I tried downloading off Kazaa on dial-up internet more than 20 times. I finally succeeded, but PCs couldn't play .avi files. I hadn't yet discovered codecs and VLC wasn't invented. The best John Cardiel part and the best Heath Kirchart part. Contains an incredible synced edit of a man snapping his board after riding off a roof as the first notes of Caring is Creepy play.
